Community engagement is
so important (never more so in these difficult times) and at
NMRA we exist to help make our lovely part of the world an even
better place to live, work and play.
It is said that health
is the great wealth. A kind, confident and connected community
can bring many benefits. With that in mind we are working, along
with our health, education, council, and other groups, to create
a Community Garden for everyone to enjoy.
A Community Garden
creates opportunities for recreation, exercise, therapy and
education, a really valuable resource to bring different
generations together for learning and friendship. Not to mention
growing a variety of healthy vegetables, fruit and flowers free
for all to enjoy. This will be a shared green
social space where people come together as a collective and
co-operative group, to share part of the planting and upkeep and
help make it a really special and important place to enhance our
diverse community for many years to come.

We have a wonderful opportunity to create a Community Garden for the benefit of everyone. Anything you have to contribute would be welcome. Can you start seedlings on your window sill, would you like to help with planting, watering and weeding? Are you interested in helping children learn about nature and where food comes from? Competitions for the tallest sunflower or biggest carrot? Are you disabled or want to help disabled people get out into nature? Are you a knitter or crafts person who can make decorations for the garden? Handy with a bit of basic DIY? Would you like to make climbing frames or raised beds? Do you like baking, could you make cakes for social teas at the garden? It's all about community spirit and bringing people together. All welcome from ages 1-100!
